Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team hosted Tufts, Ithaca, Connecticut College, and Colby on Saturday, April 21 in Worcester, Massachusetts on the final weekend of the regular season. Later the same day, the women returned to the water to compete against University of New Hampshire and RIT.
The women's varsity eight boat came in fourth place with a time of 7:14.9, behind Ithaca at 7:07.3, Colby at 7:12.0, and Tufts at 7:13.3. Conn College finished out the race at 7:27.9. The second varsity eight took home a first place finish with a time of 7:27.0 followed by Ithaca, Colby, and Tufts. Holy Cross came in second for the third varsity eight race, completing it in 7:31.6. Tufts led the pack at 7:26.6. Ithaca, Colby, and Ithaca's B team rounded out the race. The Crusaders took home a first place finish in the novice eight event with a time of 7:23.8, followed by Ithaca and Conn College.
Hours later Holy Cross was back in the water at Lake Quinsigamond to compete against UNH and RIT. The women's varsity eight boat improved their time to 6:45.8, coming in a very close second place to UNH at 6:45.0, less than a second behind. RIT was in third place with a time of 6:54.0. The novice eight had another first place finish, beating UNH with a time of 7:18.0. The varsity four boat finished second with a time of 8:00.1, behind UNH who completed the race at 7:53.5.
The Holy Cross women's rowing team is back in action for the Patriot League Championship on Sunday, April 29, which the Crusaders are hosting in Worcester, Massachusetts.
