WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team hosted Colby, Connecticut College, Ithaca, Smith and Tufts at Lake Quinnsigamond on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders' varsity eight and third varsity eight boats both place second in their races.
In the varsity eight, Ithaca recorded a first-place time of 6:57 while Holy Cross' boat of Katie Donnelly, Clare Bracikowski, Bethany Charron, Johanna Cubelli, Abby Hammond, Meaghan Pedlow, Lis Flaherty, Monika Mangsen and Nicole Gabana finished second with a time of 7:01. The Crusaders were followed by Tufts (7:13), Colby (7:28) and Connecticut College (7:38).
In the third varsity eight, Ithaca finished first with a time of 7:25, followed by Holy Cross' boat of Amanda Woodgate, Callie Gorman, Laura Dillon, Jackie Jankowski, Mary Kate Cullen, Jennifer Beaudoin, Sarah Weinstein, Claire Moynihan and Sarah Palilla with a second-place time of 7:30. Tufts took third place time of 7:47.
In the women's novice eight, Ithaca won the race with a time of 7:09, followed by Connecticut College (7:13), Colby (7:25), Tufts and Holy Cross' boat of coxswain Jillian Sollazzo and rowers, Eliza Gettel, Mollie Sydlowski, Simone Blanchard, Caroline Cataldo, Katherine Studzinski, Katherine Broderick, Amy Boerman and Catherine Flynn both recording a time of 7:38.
In the second novice eight race, Ithaca recorded a first place time of 7:49, followed by Smith (8:25) and Holy Cross' boat of coxswain Cassandra Medeiros and rowers Christina Giudice, Krista Scorsune, Emily Safko, Mattea Cumoletti, Alyssa Murphy, Brianna Medeiros, Jessica Daly and Anna Parrin with a time of 8:43.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, April 25, hosting Boston College at 8:00 a.m.
