Women's Rowing Hosts Smith And Trinity

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team hosted Conn. College, Mt. Holyoke, Smith, Trinity, and Williams in their third home race of the season on Saturday at Lake Quinisgamond.

The women's varsity four boat placed first in their race, finishing with a time 8:02.4 ahead of Trinity (8:09.4), Conn. College (8:13.4), and Smith (8:14.2). Rowing in the varsity four for the Crusaders was coxswain Victoria Vergara, Erika Harrington, Andrea Simari, Caitlin Rushworth, and Jaclyn Jonkowski.

The third varsity eight boat made up of coxswain Chloe Gordon, stroke Erika Harrington, Jaclyn Jankowski, Allison Kaufman, Mary Kate Cullen, Jen Beaudoin, Andrea Simari, Caitlin Rushworth, and Courtney Brown placed fourth in their race with a time of 7:56.7.

The Novice Eight boat finished second in their race with a time of 7:13.2, behind Smith who finished first with a time of 7:12.0. Racing for the Novice Eight was coxswain Christie Kapothanasis, stroke Shannon Driscoll, Laura Dillon, Tina Milne, Rachel Dutton, Odet Douglass, Elizabeth Flaherty, Claire Moynahan, and Emily Samartino.

The Crusaders will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, April 13 when they travel to the second day of the Knetch Cup in Camden, N.J. at 7:00a.m.
