Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team hosted their second home race of the season on Saturday against Williams, Colby, and Smith. They faced a crosswind from the Worcester shore throughout the day, which increased into the afternoon.
The women's varsity eight for Holy Cross finished second at 7:07.98, behind Williams, who had a time of 6:55.0. In the second varsity eight, the Crusaders finished in first at 7:17.1, Williams came in second with 7:27.78, Colby followed at 7:33.69, and Smith finished out the race with a time of 7:38.3. Holy Cross also took first in the third varsity eight, completing the race in 7:40.36. Williams trailed at 8:02.44, and Colby rounded out at 8:27.5. The novice eight for Holy Cross came in second with a time of 8:00.73. Williams stroked through the finish line in first place with a time of 7:46.83. The Smith A team was third at 8:43.7, while the Smith B team finished in 9:05.41. The Williams novice four took first in 8:55.75 and the Crusaders followed at 9:11.21.
The Holy Cross women's rowing team is back on the water on Saturday, April 14 to race for the Knetch Cup in Camden, New Jersey. They return home on Saturday, April 21 against Connecticut College, Tufts, Ithaca, and Colby.
