Charles Putnam is in his 15th season as coach of the Holy Cross women's novice team in 2013-2014.
A 1974 graduate of Trinity College, Putam has more than 20 years of experience as a high school teacher and rowing coach. He was the head rowing coach at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Conn. from 1978-82 before moving to Buckingham, Browne and Nichols in Cambridge, Mass., where he coached until 1986. Prior to joining the Crusader staff, Putam served as the head rowing coach at the St. Mark's School in Southboro, Mass. from 1989-1994. Putnam's more recent successes have included a bronze finish at the New England Championships, and a silver finish at the ECAC National Regatta in the women's novice eight in 2006. Putnam took a year off from coaching in 2012-2013 and returned to the program in 2013-2014.
Putnam lives in Southboro with his wife Barbara.
