Women’s Rowing Picked Sixth In Patriot League Preseason Poll
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team has been picked to finish sixth in the 2014 Patriot League preseason poll, which is voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. The Patriot League Championship will be held on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. on May 16.
Navy, who won the Patriot League Championship last season, finished first with 121 total points and nine first-place votes. As a new member of the Patriot League, Boston University was picked second with 118 points and eight first place votes. Bucknell came in third with 96 total points and one first place vote. Georgetown, an associate member of the Patriot League for rowing was picked fourth with 89 points, MIT followed at fifth with 71 total points. Coming in sixth is Holy Cross with 62 total points, followed by Colgate (35 points), Lehigh (35 Points) and Loyola (21 points).
The Patriot League champion will earn a bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship, set for May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
The Crusaders will compete at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. on April 12-13.
