CAMDEN, N.J. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team placed fourth out of six teams at the 2012 Patriot League Championship on the Cooper River. Bucknell (34 points) won its seventh straight title. Navy (29 points) finished second followed by MIT (25 points), Holy Cross (20 points), Lehigh (nine points) and Colgate (eight points). The Crusaders' second varsity eight placed third in its race, while the varsity eight and the varsity four each placed fourth. The Patriot League Championship is scored on a weighted system. Points are greatest for the varsity eight race with totals of 18-15-12-9-6-3 by position, while the second varsity eight is scored at 12-10-8-6-4-2 and the finishers in the varsity four race get scored 6-5-4-3-2-1.
Bucknell took the varsity eight race with a time of 6:48.54, while MIT (6:50.96) placed second, Navy (6:59.30) finished third, the Crusaders (7:07.73) placed fourth, Colgate (7:22.44) finished fifth and Lehigh (7:22.89) placed sixth.
Navy (7:04.50) won the second varsity eight race followed by Bucknell (7:08.79), the Crusaders (7:16.44), MIT (7:18.82), Lehigh (7:29.91) and Colgate (7:41.44).
Bucknell won the varsity four race with a time of 7:54.67 followed by Navy (8:05.83), MIT (8:28.31), Holy Cross (8:56.33) and Lehigh (9:41.09).
The Crusaders return to action when they compete at the New England Championship on Saturday, May 5, on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., at 8:00 a.m.
