Women's Rowing Wins Two Races Versus UConn

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team raced versus Connecticut on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond. The Crusaders' varsity eight and second varsity eight were victorious versus the Huskies.

Holy Cross won the varsity eight race with a time of 6:40.8, while UConn posted a time of 6:41.14. The varsity eight has three first-place finishes this season. The Crusaders' second varsity eight won its race with a time of 6:49.2 defeating UConn who recorded a time of 6:50.81. This was the second straight first-place finish for the second varsity eight and its fourth of the season.

UConn (7:50.2) won the varsity four race, while the Crusaders (8:01.62) placed second and UConn "B" (8:03.51) finished third. UConn also won the novice eight race as the Crusaders placed second and UConn "B" finished third.

The Crusaders return to action when they compete at the Patriot League Championship on Sunday, April 29, on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J., at 8:00 a.m.

Holy Cross novice eight: Marissa Solberg (coxswain), Shalynn Doherty, Eugenia Minondo, Lauren Connolly, Kathleen O'Hara, Casey Donahoe, Maggie Casey, Sarah Moroz, Siena Repetti Schmitt.
