Women's Rowing Picked Fourth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. The Holy Cross women's rowing team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2012 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. The Patriot League Championship will be held on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J., on April 29.

Bucknell, who will be looking to win its seventh straight Patriot League title, finished first with 50 total points and 10 first-place votes, while Navy was second with 40 total points and one first-place vote. Colgate was third with 31 points, followed by Holy Cross (26 points), MIT (23 points and one first-place vote) and Lehigh (10 points). Last year, Bucknell (33 points) won the title on Lake Quinsigamond, followed by Navy (28 points), Colgate (22 points), Holy Cross (21 points), MIT (12 points) and Lehigh (10 points).

The Crusaders are scheduled to start the season on March 31 versus Simmons and Smith on Lake Quinsigamond.
