WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team placed fourth out of six teams at the Patriot League Championship on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond. The Crusaders placed third in the second varsity eight and the varsity four races, while they finished fourth in the varsity eight. Bucknell won its sixth straight Patriot League title with 33 total points, followed by Navy (28 points), Colgate (22 points), Holy Cross (21 points), MIT (12 points) and Lehigh (10 points).
The varsity four race was won by Navy (7:48.0), as Colgate (7:57.1) placed second, the Crusaders (7:58.1) finished third, Bucknell (8:00.1) placed fourth, MIT (8:36.7) finished fifth and Lehigh (9:08.8) placed sixth.
The Bison (6:57.2) placed first in the second varsity eight race, followed by Navy (6:59.6), the Crusaders (7:07.4), Lehigh (7:17.9), MIT (7:21.6) and Colgate (7:35.8).
Bucknell (6:54.2) won the varsity eight, while Colgate (6:57.2) placed second, Navy (6:58.1) finished third as it just edged the Crusaders (6:58.9), MIT (7:02.1) placed fifth and Lehigh (7:19.9) placed sixth.
The Crusaders return to action on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, April 30, when they compete for the New England Championship at 8:00 a.m.
