WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2011 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. The Patriot League Championship will be held on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester on April 24.
Bucknell, who will be looking to win its sixth straight Patriot League title, finished first with 50 total points and 10 first-place votes, while Navy was second with 41 total points and one first-place vote. Colgate was third with 28 points and one first-place vote, followed by Holy Cross (25 points), MIT (24 points) and Lehigh (12 points). Last year, Bucknell won the title on the Cooper River, followed by Navy, Holy Cross, Colgate, MIT and Lehigh.
The Crusaders are scheduled to start the season on April 2 versus New Hampshire and April 3 versus Simmons on Lake Quinsigamond.
