Women's Rowing Ties For First At Head Of The Schuylkill Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team tied for first with Trinity for the points trophy at the 40th Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday.

Holy Cross' novice eight crew was very impressive as it placed fifth out of 25 boats with a time of 16:12.72. Pennsylvania won the event with a time of 15:13.30.

In the pair race, Holy Cross "A" placed third out of five boats with a time of 17:52.88, while Holy Cross "B" finished fourth with a time of 19:57.14. Vesper Boat Club won with a time of 16:45.43.

Holy Cross (16:07.90) placed 10th out of 21 boats in the open heavy championship eight race. Vesper boat Club (14:59.79) won.

The Crusaders finished 12th out of 21 boats in the club eight race with a time of 16:17.31. Trinity placed first with a time of 15:19.74.

In the open four race, the Crusaders finished 11th out of 33 boats with a time of 17:29.98 as Undine Barge Club placed first with a time of 16:15.44.

The Crusaders return to action when they conclude the fall season on Nov. 6, at the Green Monster Regatta in Hanover, N.H.
