Women's Rowing Competes At Snake Regatta

WORCESTER, Mass. ­­– Holy Cross had two top 10 finishes in the women's eight race as the Holy Cross women's rowing team opened its fall season at the Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday.

Holy Cross "A" finished seventh out of 24 boats with a time of 17:58.777 in the women's eight race. Bates won the race with a time of 17:04.866. Holy Cross' freshman eight was impressive in its debut as it placed 10th in the race with a time of 18:57.385. Holy Cross "A" placed ninth out of 18 boats in the women's four race with a time of 20:51.312, while Holy Cross "B" finished 14th with a time of 21:41.341.

The Crusaders return to action when they compete at the New Hampshire Championship on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Holy Cross "A": Jill Sollazzo (coxswain), Jackie Jankowski, Colleen Sharry, Katherine Byrns, Sarah Weinstein.

Holy Cross "B": Giangrande (coxswain), Janelle DiMartino, Kathleen O'Connor, Alex Noonan, Michele Grenier.
