WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's rowing team had 21 student-athletes named to the 2010 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including sophomore Eliza Gettel (Merrimack, N.H.) who earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester for the second straight year. She was just one of 11 members of the women's rowing Academic Honor Roll to record a 4.0. Also senior Mara Piltin (Medford, N.J.) made the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time. Holy Cross' 21 selections were the second most in the league.
The other members of the team to be named to the honor roll were seniors Mary Kate Cullen (Long Valley, N.J.) and Monika Mangsen (Holden, Mass.); juniors Katherine Byrns (Manhasset, N.Y.), Jackie Jankowski (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Sarah Weinstein (Nashua, N.H.); sophomores Simone Blanchard (Springfield, Mass.), Amy Boerman (Shelburne, Vt.), Kate Broderick (West Newbury, Mass.), Caroline Cataldo (North Andover, Mass.), Beth Charron (Manchester, N.H.), Callie Gorman (Ridgewood, N.J.), Jill Sollazzo (Bethlehem, Pa.) and Amanda Woodgate (Duxbury, Mass.); and freshmen Ali Bujold (Concord, N.H.), Michele Grenier (Menands, N.Y.), Ali Hartman (Beverly, Mass.), Liza Noone (Litchfield, Conn.), Claire Scherer (Kenmore, N.Y.) and Colleen Sharry (Braintree, Mass.).
A total of 108 student-athletes from women's rowing teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll a winter or spring sport student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester.
