Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's lacrosse team will play four scrimmages this Fall season in preparation for the 2006 campaign, as announced by fourth-year head coach Stephanie Pavlick this week. The Crusaders will play all of the scrimmages at sites away from the Holy Cross campus.
Holy Cross will open up the Fall season with a tournament at the University of Massachusetts on Saturday, September 24. The Crusaders will then travel to the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, October 9 for the Wildcats' Fall Play Day. On October 15, they will travel to Hamden, Connecticut for a match-up with Quinnipiac and on Saturday, October 22, HC will travel to Fairfield University for an all-day tournament hosted by the Stags.
Last season, the Crusaders finished second in the Patriot League with a 4-2 mark in conference play. HC earned the number two seed in the conference tournament and defeated third-seeded American University, 11-10 in the semifinals. The Crusaders then advanced to the program's second-ever championship game, but fell to defending champion, Colgate. Holy Cross' 10-9 overall record was one of just two winning records in the seven-team Patriot League in 2005.
