HC Names Abby Mead Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of the Holy Cross has named Abby Mead as an assistant women's lacrosse coach, as announced by head coach Stephanie Ridolfi and Athletic Director Richard M. Regan, Jr.

A 2006 graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., Mead comes to Holy Cross from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where she served as an assistant coach for the 2007 season. She also gained coaching experience as an assistant coach for the Capital Lacrosse 2010 Orange team in Washington, D.C.

At Davidson she was a Major General Thomas Corbin Scholar which is awarded for leadership and athletics. She also received the 2006 Wildcat Award for hard work, dedication and loyalty to the team. As a junior and senior, Mead earned Southern Conference Academic Honors twice, while she was also a member of the 2006 NCAA lacrosse honor squad. She was a consistent three-year starter as she played attack, midfield and defense, while she finished second on her team in total ground balls as a senior leader on defense.

A native of Washington, D.C., Mead was a two-time High School All-American at the National Cathedral School. She served as a team captain for her lacrosse, tennis and basketball teams, while she was a High Point Athletic Winner in 2002.
