Worcester, Mass. - Sophomore goalie Megan Orr (Wilton, Conn.) earned her second straight Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week award for her performances in Holy Cross' 1-1 week last week. Orr racked up 34 saves on the week, and helped the Crusaders move to 9-6 overall this season.
The Connecticut native made a season-high 23 saves against UConn on Saturday afternoon in Storrs, and made 11 stops in the Crusaders' 15-9 win over Fairfield last Wednesday. She has stopped 10 or more shots in nine of 15 games this year, and has a .584 save percentage so far this season, which ranks sixth nationally.
Orr's 171 saves this season are 50 more than the next closest goalie in the Patriot League.
The Crusaders host Boston College on Wednesday night at the Hart Astroturf. There will be a short ceremony honoring the Holy Cross seniors prior to the game, which is slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
