Corkum Named League Offensive Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior attack Kristine Corkum (Ipswich, Mass.)was named the women's lacrosse Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week while four other Crusaders were named to the honorable mention list for their performances last week.
Against Fairfield, Corkum led the Crusaders with four goals and netted three more goals against Lehigh. This is Corkum's second Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
Crusaders who were named to the honorable mention list include senior goalkeeper Megan Orr (Wilton, Conn.) who recorded 27 stops on 57 shots last week, defender Darcy Wolcott (Concord, N.H.) who picked up eight ground balls and had four caused turnovers, senior Patricia Sutton (Saratoga Spring, N.Y.) who recorded six goals, three assists, and four ground balls last week and Ali Bair ( Wilbraham, Mass.) who had a combined five goals and five points against Fairfield and Lehigh.
Holy Cross went 2-0 last week with wins against Fairfield, 14-9, and Lehigh, 17-4. The Crusaders are 4-0 in the League so far this season. Holy Cross will face Connecticut Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Hart Astroturf and travel to play Colgate Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
