WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior Kelly Casey (Newtown, Pa.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 30-April 5. Casey led the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team to a 1-1 record on the week, with a victory over Lehigh and a loss to Yale.
During Saturday's 11-10 win over Lehigh in double-overtime, Casey made the first start of her collegiate career and scored a career-high four goals to lead the Crusaders. Holy Cross trailed 9-8 with less than a minute to play in regulation, when Casey scored a goal at the 0:28-mark to force overtime. She then netted the game-winning goal in sudden death overtime to end the game.
Over the course of her Holy Cross career, Casey now has seven goals and two assists for nine points in 22 games played.
The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, April 7, when they travel to Fairfield for a 4:00 p.m. game.
