Kristine Corkum Named Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior Kristine Corkum (Ipswich, Mass.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 19-25. Last week, Corkum scored six goals while leading the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team to a pair of road victories over Siena (19-13) and Lafayette (17-6).

In Thursday's win over Siena, Corkum scored two goals in the first half, as the Crusaders jumped out to an 11-4 halftime lead. Then in Saturday's victory at Lafayette, she netted four goals and added a pair of assists. Three of Corkum's goals and one of her assists were in the first half, as Holy Cross took a 9-3 lead at the break on its way to the win.

On the season, Corkum now ranks second on the team in scoring with 31 points on 24 goals and seven assists. Over the course of her Holy Cross career, she has now totaled 67 goals and 23 asssits for 90 points.

The Crusaders, who now stand 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League this season, return to action on Tuesday, March 27, when they travel to Brown for a 3:30 p.m. game.
