Center Valley, Pa. - Holy Cross junior Patricia Sutton (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for games through March 15, as announced by league officials today. This is Sutton's second Player of the Week award in just 12 days, as she was tabbed with the honor on March 3.
The junior midfielder totaled five goals and two assists last week, leading Holy Cross to two wins, including the team's first conference victory of the season. Sutton scored four goals in Holy Cross' 15-5 win over Villanova on Sunday and tallied one goal and two assists in the team's 11-4 victory over Sacred Heart in Wellington, Fla., last Monday. She currently leads the team in total points (17), goals (12), assists (five), and groundballs, and is second on the team in caused turnovers.
Holy Cross is back in action on Thursday, March 16, when it hosts George Mason at 3:30 p.m., at the Hart Turf Field. The Crusaders currently sit atop the Patriot League standings with a 4-1 overall record and a 1-0 mark in league play this season.
