Cambridge, Conn. - Patricia Sutton (Saratoga Spring, N.Y.) scored four goals and had one assist to lead the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team past Sacred Heart, 12-8, Saturday in non-conference action. The Crusaders improve to 3-2 on the season with the win.
Sutton scored four goals while Cara O'Sullivan (Duxbury, Mass.) had three, Amy Archambault (West Hartford, Conn.) and Kristine Corkum (Ipswich, Mass.) each had two and Fenton added one. Sutton and Corkum each added an assist in the win.
It was just six to five with Holy Cross ahead by one to go into the half after Sutton scored three and Archambault, O'Sullivan and Corkum each added one.
In the second half the Crusaders came out strong scoring the first four goals of the second half to take a 10-5 lead after O'Sullivan scored two and Fenton and Sutton added one. Archambault and Corkum added another goal as the Crusaders topped Sacred Heart 12-8.
Senior goalkeeper, Megan Orr (Wilton Conn.) had seven saves on 20 shots to record the win for the Crusaders. Holy Cross out shot Sacred Heart 24-20.
The Crusaders are back in action Wednesday as they play host to Boston College at 4:00 p.m.
