Summer Spotlight: Sara Hennessey

Sara Hennessey

Before leaving Holy Cross for the summer, senior women's lacrosse player Sara Hennessey (Winchester, Mass.) sat down with GoHolyCross.com's Carly Grimaudo to share her summer plans and her expectations for her senior season next spring. Since her freshman year, Hennessey has played in 51 games, including 16 this past season as a junior. As a junior in 2012, Hennessey also scored 35 goals and tallied six assists for 41 total points. Her 2.19 goals per game led the team and ranked 10th in the Patriot League. For her performance in 2012, Hennessey earned second team All-Patriot League honors. Hennessey now has a career 94 goals, nine assists and 103 career points. She is the 19th player in program history to reach 100 career points and her 103 career draw controls are seventh all-time in program history. Hennessey excels in the classroom as well, making appearances on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in every season. As she begins to prepare for her senior season, Hennessey hopes to have just as much success as she has had thus far by helping return her team to the Patriot League Tournament championship game for the third consecutive year.
