WORCESTER, Mass. – Fifteen members of the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team have been selected to the 2011 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including senior Maryalice Gill (Nashua, N.H.) who earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester. Gill, who was an English and Political Science major, was just one of only six student-athletes on the women's lacrosse Academic Honor Roll to have a 4.0 average. Also seniors Katelyn Gettens (Concord, N.H.) and Meg O'Leary (Longmeadow, Mass.) made the Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time. The Crusaders' 15 selections were tied for the second most in the conference.
The other members of the team to be named to the Academic Honor Roll were seniors Mary Milley (Fairfax, Va.), Julie Murphy (Bernardsville, N.J.), Cassie Rudden (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Meredith Stevens (Duxbury, Mass.); juniors Caitie Shea (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Kat Sutton (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.); sophomores Sarah Daly (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Caroline Pedlow (Charlotte, N.C.); and freshmen Corinne Caracausa (North Wales, Pa.), Julia Cowan (Wilmette, Ill.), Seton Hartnett (Westfield, N.J.) and Sara Hennessey (Winchester, Mass.).
A total of 97 student-athletes from women's lacrosse teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a winter or spring sport student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester.
