WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior goalie Amy Martin (Bloomfield, Mich.) has been named the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Crusaders' 14-7 victory over Bucknell on April 9. This is the second straight week that Martin has earned this honor. With her second career Defensive Player of the Week award this is now her seventh ever Patriot League weekly honor as she has also been named the Goalie of the Week five times during her career.
Martin made seven saves and allowed seven goals for a .500 save percentage versus Bucknell. This season, her 7.50 saves per game are third in the Patriot League, while she has 105 saves and a 9.71 goals against average. Martin has 594 career saves, 91 career ground balls and 21 career victories. She is third all-time in program history in saves and victories, while she is ninth all-time in Patriot League history in saves.
The Crusaders (5-9 overall, 2-2 Patriot League) return to action on Wednesday, April 13, with a game on Holy Cross Field against Harvard (5-4 overall, 3-1 Ivy League) at 7:00 p.m.
