CLERMONT, Fla. – Senior Meg O'Leary (Longmeadow, Mass.) and junior Kat Sutton (Saratoga Springs, N.Y) led the Crusaders with two goals each but the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team fell to No. 16 Boston College, 12-7, on Saturday afternoon at the National Training Center in non-conference action. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-4 overall, while the Eagles improve to 5-0 overall.
Sutton extended her goal scoring streak to 34 straight games as it is the second longest streak in the nation. Senior Cassie Rudden (Hopkinton, Mass.) tallied two assists for two points. Sophomore Maddie Carrellas (Middletown, R.I.), sophomore Taylor Zebrowski (Verona, N.J.) and freshman Sara Hennessey (Winchester, Mass.) each scored one goal.
Boston College was led by Brittany Wilton, Moira Barry and Kristin Igoe who each recorded three goals and one assist for four points.
Boston College led after the first half, 5-3, and then outscored the Crusaders 7-4 in the second half for the 12-7 final score.
The Crusaders return to action when they will take on UConn on Wednesday, March 9, at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla., at noon.
