WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Cassie Rudden (Hopkinton, Mass.) had a career performance, posting a hat trick along with two assists for five points as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team defeated Yale, 12-5, on Saturday at the Hart Turf Field in non-conference action. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 1-2 overall, while the Bulldogs start the season 0-1 overall. The win is the first ever for the Crusaders over Yale, as the Bulldogs had won the previous 14 games.
Sophomore Taylor Zebrowski (Verona, N.J.) also had a strong outing, scoring two goals and recording two assists while freshman Sara Hennessey (Winchester, Mass.) scored three goals, as this is already her second career hat trick. Senior Annie Boylan (Andover, Mass.) and junior Kat Sutton (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) scored two goals apiece. With her strong performance recording two goals, Sutton currently has the second-longest goal-scoring streak in the country at 32 games. Boylan recorded an outstanding eight ground balls. Senior Meg O'Leary (Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore Maddie Carrellas (Middletown, R.I.) both recorded an assist.
