WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior goalie Amy Martin (Bloomfield, Mich.) has been named the Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Goalie of the Week and freshman Taylor Zebrowski (Verona, N.J.) has been named the Rookie of the Week, for their performances in the Crusaders’ 15-7 Patriot League win over Bucknell at the new Holy Cross Field on April 3. This is the third time this season that Martin has earned this honor and the fourth time in her career as she was also named the Goalie of the Week as a freshman in 2008. This is the second time that Zebrowski has been named Rookie of the Week.
Martin stopped 15 of 22 shots for a career-best .682 save percentage in the victory over the Bison. Her 15 saves tied a season best as she has made 15 saves three times this season, while she has recorded double-digit saves in eight of the 11 games this season. Martin has a .500 save percentage and has made 120 saves this season. Her 428 career saves are fourth all-time at Holy Cross.
Zebrowski recorded a career-best five goals and a career-best six points in the 15-7 league victory over Bucknell. Her 18 goals are second on the team, her six assists are tied for second and her 24 points are third. She has recorded at least one point in 10 of the 11 games of the season including nine in a row. Over just the last three games she has posted 10 goals and one assist for 11 points.
The Crusaders (3-8 overall, 1-2 Patriot League), return to action when they play Fairfield in a non-conference game at the new Holy Cross Field on Tuesday, April 6 at 4:00 p.m.
