WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman forward Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) and freshman goalkeeper Carly Dominick-Sobol (Syracuse, N.Y.) have been named the ECAC East Rookie of the Week and Goalie of the Week for their performances the week of Dec. 8-14. This is the second ECAC honor for Hochkins and the first for Dominick-Sobol.
In Holy Cross' 5-2 victory over Wesleyan, Hochkins scored two goals and had two assists to lead the Crusaders. Hochkins now has nine goals and 16 assists for a league leading 25 points.
Against Wesleyan, Dominick-Sobol had 26 saves and earned her fifth win of the season. Her 5-0-0 record is tied for first in the ECAC, while she is second in goals against average (1.20) and save percentage (.934).
The Crusaders remain unbeaten in 11 games and enter the winter break with a 10-0-1 (7-0-1 ECAC) record. Holy Cross returns to action after the winter break when it takes on Colby in Waterville, Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
