WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross women's ice hockey coach Peter Van Buskirk and athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2005-2006 season. The women will travel to Castleton, Vt. to begin the season at Castleton State on Nov 4. There will be a total of 12 home games at the Hart Center for Holy Cross this season, beginning with a contest against New England College on November 12.
Non-conference home games include Sacred Heart (Nov. 15), Wesleyan (Dec. 6), Amherst College (Jan. 11) and Rhode Island (Jan. 14). The Crusaders will go on the road to take on Sacred Heart on Jan. 13.
In ECAC Division III Women's Hockey action, the Crusaders will face each of its ECAC opponents twice with one home and one away game, except RIT. Holy Cross finishes its regular season with back-to-back away games in Rochester, N.Y.
The 2006 ECAC Open Tournament will take place Feb. 25-26 at the Hart Center.
Holy Cross is coming off a 2004-2005 season in which it had an overall record of 12-14-1, and finished tied for fifth in the ECAC East with a 9-9-1 mark in league games.
