WORCESTER, Mass. - Nine members of the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team have been named to the 2008 ECAC East All-Academic team. The Crusaders' nine selections were the second-most in the conference, behind only Manhattanville with 10 players.
Holy Cross players selected to the team include seniors Meghan Donovan (Reading, Mass.), Katie Falkowski (East Sandwich, Mass.), Casey Harvell (Lexington, Mass.), Parny Ormiston (Duxbury, Mass.) and Sam Rush (Wakefield, Mass.); juniors Stephanie Couzin (Chicago, Ill.) and Amy McGhee (Newtown, Pa.); and sophomores Kathryn Kelley (Dedham, Mass.) and Kathryn O'Connor (Brookfield, Conn.).
To be named to the all-academic team, the student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and have competed in at least one-half of her team's contests during the current season (goaltenders must have played at least 33 percent of her team's minutes).
Holy Cross finished the 2007-2008 season with an overall record of 16-8-3, and placed third in the ECAC East with an 13-4-2 mark in league games.
