Crusaders Place Nine On ECAC East All-Academic Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - Nine members of the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team have been named to the 2007 ECAC East All-Academic team. The Crusaders' nine selections were the second-most in the conference, behind only Manhattanville with 11 players.

Holy Cross players selected to the team include seniors Shara Conroy (Londonderry, N.H.) and Casey McCullion (Philadelphia, Pa.); juniors Meghan Donovan (Reading, Mass.), Katie Falkowski (East Sandwich, Mass.), Parny Ormiston (Duxbury, Mass.) and Sam Rush (Wakefield, Mass.); and sophomores Stephanie Couzin (Chicago, Ill.), Amy McGhee (Newtown, Pa.) and Jennifer Van Dongen (Calgary, Alberta).

To be named to the all-academic team, the student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and have competed in at least one-half of her team's contests during the current season (goaltenders must have played at least 33 percent of her team's minutes).

Holy Cross finished the 2006-2007 season with an overall record of 15-10-2, and placed fifth in the ECAC East with an 11-7-1 mark in league games.
