Worcester, Mass. - A trio of seniors will lead the 2005-06 Holy Cross women's ice hockey team, as announced by Head Coach Peter Van Buskirk. Guiding the Crusaders for a second season will be Kathleen Remsberg (Arlington, Mass.) as captain. Supporting her will be assistant captains Kolt Bloxson (Fitchburg, Mass.) and Sarah Wetherbee (Canton, Mass.).
Named team captain as junior, Remsberg will continue her duties for her senior season. She played in all 27 games this season netting four goals and adding nine helpers for a total of 13 points. Overall, she has played in 75 career-games, registering 36 goals and 37 assists for 73 career-points.
Bloxson was second on the team in points (23) this season after scoring nine goals, including one game-winner, and adding 14 assists. The forward is en route to becoming the third Crusader to reach the 100 career-points mark, as she is just eight points shy with 92 career-points. She has played in 70 career-games, netting 45 goals and 47 assists.
A 2005 All-Conference honoree, Wetherbee became the second player in Holy Cross history to surpass the 100 point mark when she registered two assists against Amherst on Feb. 9. This season Wetherbee led the team in goals (15) and points (25) and posted two hat tricks. She has played in 76 career-games, recording 53 goals and 53 assists for 106 career-points.
