WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross senior ice hockey player Sarah Wetherbee (Canton, Mass.) was named to the ECAC East Women's All-Conference Honorable Mention team, as announced by the league office.
Wetherbee finished her senior season with 13 goals and 10 assists to lead the Crusaders in points. The senior ranked first on her team in goals. Three of her goals came on the power play and she added one shorthanded score. Wetherbee also added two game winners. She is one of only two Crusader women to reach double figures in goals and assists. In the conference, Wetherbee finished tied for sixth in goals, just six behind the league leader.
For her career Wetherbee has skated in 102 games for the purple and white, amassing 129 points. She will graduate as the all-time leading point scorer in Holy Cross history while also leading in goals (66) and assists (63).
This is the fourth time in four years that Wetherbee has been chosen for All-Conference Honors. She was named to the ECAC East First Team during both her freshman and sophomore year. During two of the most prolific individual scoring seasons in school history, she accumulated a total of 81 points on 38 goals and 43 assists. Also, during her junior year, Wetherbee was named to the ECAC East Second Team after posted a team-high 25 points with 15 goals and 10 assists.
The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team finished the 2005-06 season with a record of 11-14-1, 10-9-0. For the first time since 2002-03, the Crusaders finished with a winning league record.
