WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Jocelyn Kratchmer (Watrous, Saskatchewan) has been named women's ice hockey ECAC East Player of the Week for her performance the week of Feb. 2-8. This is the first time this season Kratchmer has received this honor.
Kratchmer scored three goals and recorded two assists in two games for the Crusaders. In the 6-1 victory over MIT on Feb. 7, Kratchmer scored her 16th goal of the season and the first Crusader goal of the afternoon at the 14:11 mark in the first period. Against St. Michael's on Feb. 8, Kratchmer helped the Crusaders to a 9-0 win, scoring her 17th goal of the season at the 5:12 mark in the first period and then scoring the unassisted goal at the 13:01 mark in the third period. Kratchmer also recorded two assists.
Kratchmer is second in ECAC East point scoring (18-20-38) and short-handed goals and third in goal scoring. Kratchmer and freshman Nicola Garat (Princeton, N.J.) are tied for first in the ECAC with six game-winning goals a piece. The Holy Cross single-season game-winning goals record is seven, set by Kolt Braxson during the 2002-03 season.
The Crusaders continue ECAC East action on the road, traveling to Norwich and Castleton State on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14.
