Jan. 14, 2008

WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore defender Lisa Wilson (Corunna, Ontario) has been named the Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 7-13. Wilson led the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a 2-1 mark last week, including victories over Castleton State and Plymouth State.

In Saturday's win over Castleton State, Wilson scored a shorthanded goal 5:22 into the third period to give the Crusaders a 4-1 lead. Her goal would prove to be the game-winner, as Holy Cross held on to win the game 5-3. Then in the 11-4 victory over Plymouth State on Sunday, Wilson netted two more goals for the Crusaders. Her first goal put Holy Cross up 2-0 at the 5:19 mark of the first period, while her second goal made the score 10-1 just 2:47 into the third period.

On the season, Wilson now ranks second on the team in scoring with 14 points on nine goals and five assists. Over the course of her Holy Cross career, she has totaled 19 goals and 12 assists for 31 points.

The Crusaders (8-3-1 overall, 6-1-0 ECAC East) return to action on Friday, January 18, when they travel to St. Michael's for a 7:00 p.m. game.
