Women's Ice Hockey Falls To Manhattanville, 7-0

Worcester, Mass.- The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team hosted Manhattanville in this afternoon's conference game. Holy Cross was defeated 7-0, falling to 9-7-1 (7-4-0 ECAC) while Manhattanville improves to 12-4-0 (10-1-0 ECAC).

In the first period Danielle Nagymarosi of Manhattanville scored the first goal at 16:49. Holy Cross had two shots on goal while Manhattanville had 12.

In the second period, Holy Cross took 10 shots on goal, while Manhattanville had 12 shots on goal with two goals. At 3:47 Holly Nonis put in the first goal on the power play and Danielle Nagymarosi put in her second goal of the game at 3:47.

The Crusaders would have nine attempts on goal in the third period, while Manhattanville had eight shots with four goals. At 1:34 Shannon Coffey scored. Holy Cross had a major penalty, leaving them one man short for the next five minutes. During this time Manhattanville scored three more goals. At 3:36 Danielle Nagymarosi scored, 8:07 Shannon Coffey scored and 9:26 Danielle Mazurek scored.

Freshman Lindsay Atkinson (Westbank, British Colombia) was in goal tonight. She had 26 saves out of 33 dropping to (3-2-0), while Manhattanville's goalie Karine Turmel had 20 saves on 20 shots improving her record to (5-1-0).

The Crusaders compete again February 1 at Southern Maine. The start time is set for 4:00 pm.
