HC Women's Ice Hockey Defeats Plymouth, 11-4

Worcester, Mass.- Freshman Louise Hillen (Minnetonka, Minn.) and sophomore Lisa Wilson (Corunna, Ontario) led the Crusaders in this afternoons conference win over Plymouth, 11-4. With 7 other Crusaders scoring, Holy Cross improves its overall record to 8-3-1 (6-1-0 ECAC) and Plymouth fell to 0-10-0 overall (0-9-0 ECAC).
The Crusaders took charge the first period scoring seven goals consecutively leading 7-0 over Plymouth. Hillen scored the first goal 4:56 into the period followed by Wilson at 5:19 with an assist by Hillen, Hillen scored again at 10:00 with an assist by senior Parny Ormiston (Duxbury, Mass.) Another goal was scored at 12:23 by freshman Jocelyn Kratchmer (Watrous, Saskatchewan) assisted by senior Sam Rush (Wakefield, Mass.). The fifth goal was made by sophomore Kathryn O'Connor (Brookfield, Conn.) at 12:28 with an assist by Ormiston and senior Allie DeAngelis (Framingham, Mass.). Goal number six was scored at 18:32 by freshman Christina D'Ambrogio (Toronto, Ontario) assisted by sophomore Katelyn Doherty (Toronto, Ontario) and seniors Casey Harvell (Lexington, Mass.). The final goal for the period happened with six seconds on the clock by junior Stephanie Couzin (Chicago, Ill.) to put the Crusaders at a 7-0 lead.
Holy Cross started out the second period with a quick goal scored by sophomore Kathryn Kelley (Dedham, Mass.) eleven seconds into the period assisted by Krmpotich. The goal was answered back at 11:47 made by Elizabeth Murray from Plymouth. The Crusaders would come back with a goal at 18:56 on power play made by senior Meghan Donovan (Reading, Mass.) assisted by sophomore Wendy Nobrega (Barrington, R.I.). Holy Cross led 9-1.
The final period began with a second goal made by Wilson 2:47 into the period with assists from senior Katie Falkowski (East Sandwich, Mass.) and Nobrega. Plymouth would score 5:54 with a second goal by Murray. Senior Sam Murphy (Canton, Mass.) recieved an assist from Rush for a goal at 15:16 for the Crusaders. The period ended with two more goals scored by Murry, from Plymouth for an 11-4 Crusaders victory.
Holy Cross freshman goalie Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nove Scotia) made 5 saves in the game to earn the win and improve to 3-1-0 on the season. Lindsey Delorie stopped 45 shots for Castleton. The Crusaders out shot the Panthers 56-9.
The Crusaders play again January 18th at St. Michaels. The game is set to start at 7:00 pm.
