Women's Ice Hockey Set For Weekend Series With Salve Regina

- The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team will return to action with a home-and-home series against ECAC East conference rival Salve Regina on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 2-3. The Crusaders will host the Seahawks on Friday night before traveling to Newport, R.I. on Saturday night.
- Last season, Holy Cross opened the season on the road at Salve Regina and came away with a 3-0 victory. Graduate Stacey Hochkins tallied two goals and one assist to lead the Crusaders. Holy Cross hosted the Seahawks later in the season (1/14) and earned a 6-2 victory in that contest with sophomore Rebecca Fleming (Newton, Mass.) netting a hat trick.
- Salve Regina began its season on Friday, Oct. 26 at Franklin Pierce where they came away with a 13-2 victory. The Seahawks also played host to Potsdam State and won 3-2 on Saturday, Oct. 27. The Crusaders defeated Potsdam State on Sunday, Oct. 28, by a score of 6-2. Senior Rachel Porter leads the team with five points on two goals and three assists. In net, senior Ali Muehlbronner has started both games this season and allowed four goals.
- Senior Caroline English (Dorchester, Mass.) tallied one goal and three assists in the Crusaders' 6-2 victory over Potsdam State (10/28) to lead the team. Fellow classmate Rebecca O'Quinn (Arlington, Mass.) and sophomore Nicole Giannino (Bay Shore, N.Y.) each added two goals in the win. Sophomore Krista Manzanares (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) received the victory in net for Holy Cross making nine saves to move to 1-0-0 on the season.
