MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior forward Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) and junior forward Caroline English (Dorchester, Mass.) were named to the 2012 ECAC Women's Open All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the championship game on Sunday, Feb. 26. This is the second year in a row Hochkins has been named to the team. She also earned tournament most valuable player honors as a sophomore and junior. English was named for the first time this year.
Hochkins tallied a goal and an assist for the Crusaders in the first game of the tournament on Saturday, Feb. 25 in a 3-0 victory over St. Michael's. In the championship game, Hochkins scored 2:12 into the first period to give Holy Cross the early lead against St. Anselm, but the Hawks were able to mount a comeback and win by a score of 7-3. English scored the second goal on Saturday and added two assists on Sunday as the Crusaders were unable to take home the ECAC Open title for the first time since the 2007-2008 season.
Hochkins ends her Holy Cross career having tallied 103 goals and 86 assists for a total of 189 points. Along with holding career records in those three categories, she also now holds career records in game winning goals (18), power play goals (22) and shorthanded goals (15). She also broke the single-season record for goals this year with 28 and holds the single-season points record with 53 in 2008-2009.
