Two Women's Ice Hockey Players Named To All-ECAC East Teams

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Senior forward Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) has been named to the All-ECAC East first team and freshman defenseman Francesca Panarelli (Shrewsbury, Mass.) to the All-Rookie team, announced by the ECAC and league commissioner, Rudy Keeling. The teams are voted on by the coaches of the league each year. Hochkins has made the All-ECAC East first team all four years of her career and has taken home six All-ECAC East honors winning Rookie of the Year in 2009 and Player of the Year in 2010.

Entering the final weekend of the season, Hochkins leads the Crusaders with 26 goals and 17 assists for 43 points. She now holds career school records in all six major offensive categories with 101 goals, 85 assists, 186 points, 18 game-winning goals, 22 power play goals and 15 short-handed goals. Hochkins won ECAC East Player of the Week twice this season bringing her career total to seven.

Panarelli has been the top defenseman statistically this season for the Crusaders scoring four goals and adding 12 assists for a total of 16 points, including three goals and six assists in 18 conference games. Panarelli scored her first career goal on Nov. 18 in a 6-2 victory over Manhattanville.

Holy Cross (18-3-3 overall, 14-3-1 ECAC East) will finish out the 2011-2012 season in Manchester, N.H. at the ECAC Open Tournament this weekend. The Crusaders will take on St. Michael's in the first round at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 and play either St. Anselm's or Sacred Heart in the consolation or championship game on Sunday, Feb. 26.
