WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman forward Rebecca Fleming (Newton, Mass.) has been named the ECAC East women's hockey Player of the Week as announced by the league. She posted three goals and two assists for five points in the Crusaders' 6-2 win versus Salve Regina on Jan. 14. This is Fleming's first ECAC East weekly award.
With the game tied at 1-1 in the second period, Fleming gave the Crusaders a 2-1 lead with her first goal of the game. With Holy Cross leading 3-2 in the third period, she increased the lead to 4-2. She also scored the last goal of the contest for her first career hat-trick. Fleming also added two assists for five points. The Crusaders are now 10-1-2 overall and 7-1-0 in the ECAC East.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday, Jan. 20, when they travel to Rutland, Vt., for a game versus ECAC East opponent Castleton State at 7:00 p.m.
