WORCESTER, Mass. – The women's hockey team captured two of the three ECAC weekly awards for their performances last week. Junior forward Caroline English (Dorchester, Mass.) has been named the ECAC East Player of the Week and freshman forward Mary Klimasewiski (Cochester, Conn.) has been named ECAC East Rookie of the Week.
During a 2-0-1 week for Holy Cross, English scored three goals and had two assists for five points. In a 6-0 win over Sacred Heart, English scored a pair of goals and was credited with an assist. She added another goal and an assist in a 5-5 overtime tie against Bowdoin. On the season, English has five goals and four assists.
Klimasewiski had a breakout week with three goals and had one assist. Klimasewiski had at least one point in each of Holy Cross' three games last week beginning with a two goal performance against Sacred Heart. She added one assist against Bowdoin and then finished the week by scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Wesleyan. Klimasewiski has four goals and five assists so far this season.
The Crusaders (8-0-1 overall, 5-0-0 ECAC East) return to action on Saturday, Dec. 3, when they play host to UMass-Boston at 7:00 p.m.
