WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head women's ice hockey coach Peter Van Buskirk and athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., have announced the 2011-2012 schedule. The Crusaders will play a total of 24 regular season games, including 12 at the Hart Center. Holy Cross will kick off the season in an exhibition game against Rhode Island (Oct. 29) at the Hart Center and will then travel to Salve Regina (Nov. 4) before returning home to face off with Sacred Heart on Nov. 5.
The remainder of the 2011 portion of the schedule features key ECAC games against UMass-Boston (Nov. 11), St. Anselm (Nov. 12), Manhattanville (Nov. 18), Nichols (Nov. 19), St. Michael's (Dec. 3) and Norwich (Dec. 4). The Crusaders will host non-conference opponents Bowdoin (Nov. 26) and Wesleyan (Nov. 27), and will travel to Sacred Heart (Nov. 22) and Connecticut College (Dec. 7).
Holy Cross will open the New Year when it hosts conference opponent Salve Regina (Jan. 14). The Crusaders will host four games in January, also welcoming Plymouth State (Jan. 27), Southern Maine (Jan. 28), and Colby (Jan. 31) to the Hart Center. Holy Cross will also travel to Castleton State (Jan. 20) and New England College (Jan. 21).
In February, the Crusaders will travel to St. Anselm (Feb. 3), UMass-Boston (Feb. 4), Nichols (Feb. 10), St. Michael's (Feb. 17), and Norwich (Feb. 18). Holy Cross will host its final home game of the season at the Hart Center against Manhattanville (Feb. 11).
The Crusaders will look to win their fourth straight ECAC Open title on Feb. 25 and 26 at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.
