Stacey Hochkins Named ECAC East Womens Ice Hockey Player Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross sophomore forward Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) has been named the ECAC East women's ice hockey Player of the Week announced today by the league. This is the fourth Player of the Week honor for Hochkins and third of the season as she received the award on Nov. 10 and Dec. 14.
Hockins scored her third hat trick of the season and the sixth of her career in Holy Cross' 13-2 win over Plymouth State on Feb. 19. Hochkins started the night with an assist in the first period, added two goals in the second and closed out the game with a goal in the third to finish with four points. Hochkins also recorded an assist in Holy Cross' 3-2 loss to Southern Maine on Feb. 20. For the season, Hochkins has found the back of the net 23 times and assisted on 18 goals. She leads the ECAC with 41 points and is first in goal scoring. Hochkins has 94 career points, ranks fifth all-time at Holy Cross with 48 goals and is ninth with 46 assists.
Holy Cross (18-4-2, 15-2-2 ECAC) finished the regular season in second place in the ECAC with 32 points. Manhattanville captured their sixth regular season title with 33 points. The Crusaders will host St. Michael's in the first round of the ECAC Open Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 12:00 p.m. Saturday's winner will play in the championship game on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 4:00 p.m. against the winner of the Sacred Heart/St. Anselm game.
