Womens Ice Hockey Defeats Plymouth State, 13-2
WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. - Sophomore Stacey Hochkins (New Boston, Mich.) scored a hat trick and nine of her teammates found the back of the net as the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team defeated Plymouth State 13-2 Friday night in Waterville Valley, N.H. With the victory, the Crusaders pick up their 18th win of the season, improving to 18-3-2 (15-1-2 ECAC), while the Panthers fall to 0-23-0 (0-18-0 ECAC).
Hochkins recorded her third hat trick of the season, while sophomore Amy Pfund (Tenafly, N.J.) found the back of the net for her first goal of the year. Junior Emily Henry (Lumsden, Saskatchewan) scored two goals and made one assist for a season-high three points.
Sophomore goalie Carly Dominick-Sobol (Syracuse, N.Y.) earned her ninth win of the season, improving to 9-2-0. Dominick-Sobol allowed two goals and made eight saves. The Crusaders out shot the Panthers 56-10. Holy Cross went 4-9 on the power play, while Plymouth State went 0-3.
Holy Cross concludes the 2010 regular season tomorrow, on the road, at Southern Maine. The puck drops at 1:00 p.m.
