WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior forward Jocelyn Kratchmer (Watrous, Saskatchewan) and rookie forward Caroline English (Dorchester, Mass.) have been named the ECAC East women's ice hockey Player and Rookie of the Week announced today by the league. This is the second Player of the Week honor for Kratchmer and the first Rookie of the Week honor for English.
Kratchmer scored four goals and recorded three assists in three games last week, including a 5-1 win over Colby when she had two goals and one assist, a 2-1 win against New England College when she tallied one assist and a 5-0 win over Nichols where she had two goals and one assist. She has scored a point in her last five games, dating back to Dec. 5 at Castleton and is second on the team with 24 points.
English scored two goals and recorded four assists in three games last week. She had one goal and two assists in a 5-1 win over Colby. English also had one goal and two assists in a 5-0 win over Nichols. She leads Holy Cross rookies with 11 points and is tied for fifth in ECAC freshman scoring.
Holy Cross (12-0-1, 9-0-1 ECAC) will hit the road, traveling to No. 5 Trinity College on Tuesday, Jan. 12 for a 7:00 p.m. game.
