WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross head women's ice hockey coach Peter Van Buskirk and athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. have announced the 2009-2010 schedule. The Crusaders will play a total of 24 regular season games, including 12 at the Hart Center. Holy Cross will kick off the season at ECAC opponent UMass-Boston (Nov. 6) and then host Salve Regina in its home-opener (Nov. 7).
The remainder of the 2009 portion of the schedule features ECAC games against Southern Maine (Nov. 10), Manhattanville (Nov. 13), St. Michael's (Nov. 21), Norwich (Dec. 4), Castleton State (Dec. 5) and Plymouth State (Dec. 8). The Crusaders will travel to non-conference opponents Sacred Heart (Nov. 18) and Connecticut College (Dec. 1).
Holy Cross will open the New Year when it hosts non-conference opponent Colby on Jan. 5. The Crusaders will host eight more games at the Hart Center, welcoming Nichols (Jan. 9), Castleton State (Jan. 17), Middlebury (Jan. 26), New England College (Jan. 29), St. Anselm (Jan. 30), St. Michaels (Feb. 6-7) and Norwich (Feb. 12).
The Crusaders will look to defend their 2009 ECAC Open title at the ECAC Open Tournament on Feb. 27 and 28 at a site to be determined.
