WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross sophomore Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) has been named to the Big South Conference All-Academic Team in women's golf, as announced at the league's annual banquet held at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. A history major with a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, Doherty was one of nine student-athletes to be named to the team. She is currently competing at the Big South Championship.
On the season, Doherty is averaging 82.4 strokes per round, good for the best average on the team. Over the course of her career, she has had the best score for the Crusaders in nine out of the 12 events in which she has competed. At the 2008 Big South Championship, Doherty placed 28th overall with a three-round total of 257 strokes.
