Holy Cross returns to action on April 13-15, when it takes part in Big South Championship, to be held at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. The Crusaders will then take part in the Jack Leaman Invitational on April 18-19. The first round of the Jack Leaman Invitational will be played at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Mass., while the second round will take place at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.
In their last meet, the Crusaders finished in fourth place out of five schools at the Fairfield Invitational, held at the Crown Park Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. on March 6-7.
Sophomore Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) led the team at the Fairfield Invitational with 172 strokes, to finish in ninth place overall. Doherty shot an 82 in the first round, then carded a 90 in the second round. On the season, she is now averaging 82.4 strokes per round, good for the best average on the team. Over the course of her career, Doherty has had the best score for the Crusaders in nine out of the 12 events in which she has competed.
Sophomore Kerrin O'Leary (Milton, Mass.) had the second-best score on the team at the Fairfield Invitational, totaling 178 strokes. O'Leary had an 86 in the first round, followed by a 92 in the second round. On the year, she is now averaging 95.4 strokes per round.
